Farrell, Leslie and Grochowski provides a variety of services to local and national corporations, which includes, but is not limited to the following:Start-Up Business: We advise new business owners on the proper legal status for their new venture be it a limited liability company or a corporation. We draft the appropriate paperwork to establish the chosen legal structure as well as offering assistance on such matters as obtaining tax payer identification numbers. Commerical Closings: We have assisted numerous individuals in the sale of their businesses and represented numerous buyers in the purchase of businesses. Employment Law Compliance: We assist business in ensuring that they comply with state and federal employment laws in such areas as wage and hour compliance, anti-discrimination laws, and sexual harassment laws. We have drafted hundreds of employee handbooks for companies and provided sexual harassment prevention training to many managers at companies. We have also defended many companies in discrimination matters and wrongful discharge matters both before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and in state and federal court. We provide on-going counseling to our clients when they are faced with allegations of discrimination or harassment in their workplaces and assist them in investigating the allegations and handling the employees involved. Customer Relations: Some of our corporate clients are involved in consumer services. When a complaint arises from a customer that could potentially lead to litigation, we provide assistance in trying to resolve the matter short of litigation for our clients. We have also represented numerous corporations on claims of unfair trade practices, unfair competition, breach of contract etc.. before many state courts both in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
